Gov. Nixon appoints attorney with prosecutorial and private practice experience as Camden County judge
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed Richelle Christensen of Four Seasons as Camden County Associate Circuit Judge. The position became vacant upon the March 1 passing away of Associate Circuit Judge Jack A. Bennett, who suffered a heart attack on Feb. 24 while in the courtroom.
Christensen, age 36, currently serves as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Camden County. A Democrat, she was the elected prosecuting attorney for Maries County from 2001 to 2006. Christensen also has been in private practice and served as a public defender. She obtained her law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law and her degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri.
"Richelle Christensen has courtroom experience as a prosecutor, as a public defender, and as a private attorney," Gov. Nixon said. "That experience will help her ably serve the citizens of Camden County. I also want to again express my appreciation to the family of Judge Bennett for his two decades of leadership upon the bench in serving the people of Camden County and the state of Missouri."
